If yesterday was Monday...

If yesterday was Monday, today must be SHOESday!

Introducing a new regular feature, right here, on my blog, every SHOESday.
I thought I'd start with an old familiar fave, the shoe that you and I all know and love (well, maybe you don't love it as much as I do, and that's ok...I guess!). Deep purple velvet upper and shiny shiny perfect-shade-of-red shaped wedge heels. Divine!I had seen these shoes in a magazine for a very large amount of money, way out of my league. But on a trip to Singapore, I found them on sale, on HUGE sale, and in my size, which alone is quite an achievement - I have a large foot by Singaporean standards (size 39 or 8 to 8.5). So I gleefully snapped them up and have no regrets. In fact, they would have been worth paying full price, in hindsight. I feel like a million dollars when I wear these shoes - and since I don't have many (ok, no) red carpet events to attend, I wear them to work. And I love them - these are easily my favourite pair of shoes. Look at that heel - from the back so thin, looks like a regular heel, but then the wedge, the fabulously shaped wedge.
And the button closure - yes, it's a real velvet covered button. And the hidden pleasure of the inside of the shoe entirely lined in red leather. Shoe perfection!

Next week: my wedding shoes.

And if anyone else wants to play along, I'd love to see yours!

Stunning. Breathtaking. Adorable. Hot. Amazing.

Shall I go on?

Happy Shoseday! I love it!

I own no shoes of note. I will just happily watch yours.

Beautiful! I have over 60 pairs of shoes (I'm not very hard on them)and let's face it - is you can't push a astroller in them... I love those shoes - love them - would have happily spent the housekeepiong on them - no problem - most of my shoes are currently dull - and cheap - although 2 pairs arrived yesterday!

You would just roll on the floor laughing at my shoes, RR. I could show you my Birkenstocks, bought at the (sort of) local outlet store to replace the ones I bought in Austria and wore for 10+ years until the sole separated from the shoe and got stuck under the clutch every time I went to shift (not so safe). Or my winter shoe, two varieties, one brown, one black, both of which just slip on so I don't have to deal with my own shoelaces, too.

Glamour? We don't got that here... you, however, appear to have loads extra!

I like Shoesday!! Go on show them the brown Prada's...no, no the electric purple Gucci's that were a super BARGAIN purchased on the same trip...or the Jill Sander wedges. I think I may have shoe envy. Jilly x

I love shapped wedges! Those shoes are amazing. Sadly, all my shoes are from Payless (as in about $15-20) But I dream of shoes like those.

Oh dear. I don't have much to show either. I can't believe you can bend your foot that way let alone go to work and function in a shoe like that. I alternate between very sensible Mary Janes and have one of the only pairs of flat black boots in the world. Oh, and my orange Crocs. So sad.

I did wear heels once, and then after a couple too many tequila shots fell over and broke my collarbone so badly that I now have a nice titanium plate screwed into it. So, flat shoes for me!

Although these shoes are very familiar, seeing them up close & personal is so nice! They're amazing shoes & how great you were able to score themon sale. No wonder they're your favorite pair.

Oh, this could be kind of fun... But I got nothin' to show but ugly ass crocs, practical Keens and some flip flops... Boring! I'll just stand here and watch you guys.

They are gorgeous! I won't participate as I am a boring shoe person!

So nice to see shoes without teeth marks. I am envious. These shoes are not to be worn around small children unless scotchguarded. I wear heels about 3 times a year if that when I go out for dinner.
Going to my younger sisters graduation on Friday may have to get out the fancy heels for that one and post a pic.

they really are just perfection, aren't they?! I do adore them, and look forward to Shoesday next week...

Very pretty but I'd sprain an ankle of break a leg in them. I'm like a few other readers. I can count the shoes I wear on one hand Teva sandals mostly!

My husband thinks I have a lot of shoes but they tend to be of the black/brown color range and mostly flat. I dislocated my ankle a while ago and heels just kill me. Thank goodness flats are back in style. Those red/purple heels are beautiful.

darling those are divine shoes. makes me smile to see the photos.

no point in me playing along because i generally wear black boots. but i'm going to love seeing your shoes.

Mmmmm, mmmmmm, mmmmmm. Those are luscious. And you got them on sale! Everyone knows that shoes bought on sale don't count towards the total shoe budget, especially the ones that were really super discounted. I have size 9 or 9.5 feet that are really narrow, it's crazy hard to find shoes that fit and are cute. I have a pair of red patent leather peep toe heels my wonderful mom got me for Christmas, thought, and I think they're the only shoes of not I've got. Hmm, gonna have to fix that... I look forward to seeing more of your divine shoes.

Love them! Serious shoe envy over here - I adore red shoes, must be the Dorothy in me! No point me playing along either - Im a blundstones girl through and through. Although Pirate Jim has a little red pair of blunnies!

Very beautiful!

Now, if only I were a shoe girl, but I've only got four pairs, so I'll just be watching you show yours. :-)

Those are just gorgeous, I agree, the heel is stunning, and the button closure perfect!

I own a whole 3 pairs of shoes - 2 pairs of Kumfs, and one pair of sneakers - all of which can cope with my horribly deep orthotics, so I no longer get to play with nice shoes :( I'll live vicariously through yours!

Ha, I just thought I'd share - in my last entry, one of my commenters said, "RR has great shoes, judging by the avatar." :-) It's so true, too.

Shoesday is a great idea! I have a collection I'd be happy to share. Might even be a good excuse to buy some more.....
Yours are just gorgeous. I love the velvet / shiny combination. Beautiful colour too. I'm seriously envious.
